A Guide to Shopping at Lowes Foods
The first thing to keep in mind while shopping at Lowes Foods is that prices vary from store to store. I use my local Hickory, NC ad for prices and matchups. I post the coupon match up list on Tuesday evenings.
To get the sale prices and double coupons, you must sign up for a Fresh Rewards card. You can do that online or in any store. While you are signing up for that card, you will want to become an Instasave customer too. Instasave has online coupon offers that you can load onto your card.
Manufacturer Coupon Policy
- Coupons must be in date.
- Coupons must match the item(s) purchased.
- Coupons must be presented at the time of purchase.
- Lowes Foods limits redemption to 4 coupons for 4 of the same item.
- Coupon value cannot exceed our retail price of the item; no cash back will be awarded.
Double Coupons
- Lowes Foods will double up to 20 manufacturer coupons with a face value of $0.99 or less every day.
- Manufacturer coupons for FREE items or Buy One, Get One FREE items will not be doubled.
- Any manufacturer coupon that states -Do not double- will not be doubled. (I have found that this is not true at my store, but some stores enforce this rule.)
- There will be no overage using double coupons.
Internet Coupons
- Lowes Foods will only accept printable internet coupons if they scan at checkout.
- They will not honor FREE Product coupons printed from the Internet.
- They will accept Buy One Get One FREE and other values that have a purchase requirement.
- Coupons will be rejected if they are distorted, altered or obvious duplicates. Coupons are non-transferrable, meaning they should not be photocopied or scanned and distributed to others.
Store Coupons
- In order to redeem store coupons, a Lowes Foods rewards card must be used.
- Store coupons must be in date.
- All limits and purchase requirements must be followed.
- Store coupons MAY be stacked with manufacturer coupons.
Competitor’s Coupons
Lowes Foods will accept local supermarket or supercenter competitor’s circular or direct mail coupons for dollars off the entire order. (examples include Food Lion, Harris Teeter, Bi-Lo, Kroger, Super Target, Super K-Mart, Wal-mart)
-
- They won’t accept any competitor coupons for specific items.
- They won’t accept any type of internet coupons from any other retailers.
- They won’t accept any type of competitor coupons from drug stores or club stores.
- They should accept Catalina Check-out Manufacturer coupons from competitors as long as they are in date, all purchase requirements are met, and they scan.
Happy Shopping!

can you explain how to stack coupons???
I went to LOWES in Mount Airy this morning for what I thought would be a great deal. I had several items (under the 20 limit) that I had a dollar coupon for. I thought that they would double up to the .99 part of it and I would have to pay the difference, but that is not the case and I ended up spending more than $10 over what my budget was because they do not double one dollar coupons. Does anyone know how to ask the manufacturers for .99 coupon? It doesn’t do me anygood to even go to lowes’s unless they are really having a rocking special if I can’t get all my coupons doubled. Does any other stores double the one dollar ones? Thanks for any help!
No stores regularly double $1 coupons. Harris Teeter will occasionally double $1.00 coupons in a special advertised event called Super Doubles, but that doesn’t happen very often.
If you have a Farm Fresh close by, they double $1.00 coupons every Wed. but there is a 20 coupon limit as well as you can only have two coupons per like item.
Lowes Foods does double dollar-coupons every once in awhile (they will double coupons with a face value of $1.99 or less), and is clearly marked in their circulars when this event is happening. As I have been shopping other stores regularly now for the sales (I used to solely shop Lowes), I still think Lowes Foods offers really awesome sale prices, especially with .99cent (and below) coupons that double (no other store in my area doubles coupons except Kmart, and then you have to spend $25 in order for them to double, and BiLo doubles only .60cent or less.) Lowes can be expensive otherwise, but they also have one of the best sales prices that I’ve seen in my area (paired with double coupons, and especially during the double dollar days).
The coupon policy says max of 20 coupons a day. Can you do multiple transactions? Or is it tracked by your rewards card? I live about 25 miles from Lowes Foods but it’s the best place because the only other store we have is Food Lion or a very over priced Harris Teeter….? Thanks! I am new to couponing and newly unemployed so I am trying to make our budget stretch the best I can.
It is tracked by your rewards card. They don’t do more than 20 per day. Watch your sales at the Harris Teeter I can find better sales with coupons there than anywhere else!
As of Oct 2012 (your post was from a year ago), at my Lowes Foods you can use as many $1 or over coupons you wish. Their limitations refer to coupons that double (.99cents or less) of which you are allowed a max of 20 per transaction, and in increments of 4 like-coupons of a certain product (I’ve never turned around and done another transaction right in a row). Not sure if the same rule applies when they have double dollar days (they don’t have them too often for me to experiment). As far as multiple transactions and the 20 coupon limit, we have gone back to the store on one occasion to stock up on a great sale. We did reach the 20 double coupon limit the 1st visit, and were still able to go back the same night and buy more of the same product/coupons the second time with our card.
I wanted to know if you puta coupon from cell fire on your card can u use it more than once… Like if I buy 4of something? Thanks
Nope, it will only come off one item!
I was wondering if you know – can I use an e-coupon (digital on my Lowes card) plus a paper coupon on one item???
Yes, you should be able to!
they are closing the harris teeter in my area (I am so bummed) and changing it into a lowes foods can you tell me if they do the triple coupons and super double like harris teeter does? I really hope so I always get the best deals at harris teeter but I am keeping an open mind about this new store
They have had 2 Super Double events in the last year, but not as often as Harris Teeter. I haven’t seen them triple coupons for several years. But they do have a good sale most weeks, and you can get some good deals. I do the matchups each week, just like for Harris Teeter.
Hang in there, we will get through this together!
In my area we have a Super S foods is that the same as Lowe’s Foods? Super S foods on their coupon policy says they do not double coupons but the Lowe’s foods one says they do..and Super S is owned by Lowe’s..I don’t want to make the 30 min drive to find out.
At my Lowes Foods they are not giving out FRC any longer (that program ended many months ago). You may want to update the info for newbies shopping here. I am so excited to have FINALLY found you, as NO ONE offers Lowes Foods deals. I found your post on Living Rich With Coupons!!! Thank you!!!
Thanks Lori, I just took over this blog about 6 weeks ago and am trying to get to everything! Thanks for the tip!
Went to Lowes Foods today and tried to do 2 separate transactions to utilize all my coupons, ie: break up 8 like coupons into 2 transactions, but was told they no longer allow multiple transactions for coupons. I was allowed 2 transactions when i was there last time, so what is going on? Anyone else run into this?
I have been with Lowes in Texas for almost 6 years. I have never seen a coupon over .50 cents double, nor have I ever in that time seen that on our web site. I am curious, would it be possible to specify the area where the stores are that do this as to avoid issues with customers?
We had a lady cause a major issue in our store just the other day and she really tore into a checker. I hate seeing a employee get treated like that for doing their job. Particulary when they are doing thier job correctly.
Thank you.
Hi John,
This coupon policy is for Lowe’s Foods, not to be confused with Lowe’s Home Improvement Stores. Lowes Food Stores is a family owned grocery store chain in Virgina and North & South Carolina.
Lowes Home Improvement Stores will accept coupons but only at face value. So a $.50 coupon would only take $.50 off. I am sorry your employee was treated that way.
Blessings,
Natalie
Thank you for your quick reply.
I am with Lowes Pay & Save. We are also a family owned grocery store chain. We, however, are located in Texas, New Mexico, Nevada , and Arizona.
That is where the confusion must be coming from.
Here is our coupon policy for your readers in those areas. Something I found strange about our policy is that we DO double coupons .50 and under as long as they do follow the requirements according to our policy and the coupons.

Thank you so much for your time.
John
P.S. Just realized why I thought it strange about the doubling. Our listed policy says we do not. Sorry about that.
If you load coupons onto the rewards card or print coupons to take into the store, do you have to ask that they be doubled or does it happen automatically at checkout? Thank you!
