Update Regarding Brag Posts

September 16, 2012

I wanted to give a response to the comments on the brag posts.  I am asking, but not requiring people to submit a breakdown of their trips. If breakdowns are submitted, they will be posted.

The brag posts are really an opportunity for readers to “brag” & encourage each other, rather than to give other readers the opportunity to copy the deals.  I am hoping you will be able to use the matchups for the most part.

I know that the breakdowns are very helpful, but they can be time consuming for a reader. I don’t want to discourage readers from submitting their pictures because they don’t have the time or a computer to submit it.

For example, one reader was very happy  that her post went up, because she only has a cell phone to text her deals and no actual internet service at home.  My goal is to be encouraging and uplifting to each other.  I don’t want to exclude anyone because of their situation, whether they are short on time or don’t have the means to send in a complete list.

So, I will continue to share peoples’ fantastic finds. Please use them to help you with your deals and encourage each other.

I hope you are having a blessed Sunday.

Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing. 1 Thessalonians 5:11

Store Matchup Update

September 9, 2012

So, it has been a busy five days.  As many of you may know, I took over for Shelly on Wednesday this week.  I am really trying to get everything figured out – how to do stuff, what to post & learning the behind the scenes “system” that Shelly had.

I have had a few people ask what my plans are for matchups.  I plan on continuing all of the stores Shelly posted, at this time.  This week of course, being the exception. I want to be able to get a handle on Harris Teeter and Super Doubles.

You can expect all the drug stores to be up on Saturday. I will post a preview of the drugstores early in the week. The preview has the best deals – the deals you will want to get the coupons ready for. These previews are up on Weds , Thursday by the latest.

I am working on schedule .. it is not exactly complete, this is where I am currently at.   If you have any specific questions, please leave it in the comments. If there is a store you would like to see added, please let me know. If you have any questions, please let me know!

  • Brag Share – I love sharing your deals. Please feel free to email your brags/success to me at Natalie @ couponteacher.com or use the contact form here.
  • Deal Request – The best deals often come from sharing by readers. Please feel free to share.

Hello, My Name is Natalie

September 5, 2012

Hello, Nice to meet you!

My name is Natalie,  I am your  new Coupon Teacher. I feel so blessed to be here with all of you.  I am honored to continue MyCouponTeacher.com. I know you will miss Shelly, but I hope you will come to know and enjoy me, just as you did Shelly.

I would like to tell you a bit about me:

Most importantly, I am a child of God.  I was raised in my parent’s church and began singing there when I just 10 years old. I have been signing ever since! I currently sing on my church’s worship band, along with my son Aaron. Singing is my ministry.

I am wife of L, and Mom to Aaron, and Andre.  Several years ago, the Lord truly blessed my family —  and made a way for me to be home for my boys full time. It has been amazing! During this time, not only have I have learned to coupon and save money for my house, but have also been honored to teach others to do the same.

I want to get to know you as well, so please comment to introduce yourself.

Some of the things you will continue to see here are your drug store deals, grocery deals  and freebies. You will continue to see Harris Teeter deals, along with a few new stores.

I am excited, nervous, and anxious about this journey! Please don’t be afraid to tell me what you like, what you don’t like – I will be relying on comments and the like button to figure out what works best.

I can do all things through Christ which strengthen me. – Philippians 4:13

Hurry! Nielsen Home Scan is once again accepting new panelists in some areas.  Head over here to apply.  If you qualify, you will get a scanner to scan all your purchases.  To reward you for your time, you’ll receive points that you can trade in for rewards, gift cards, and prizes.

This is a lot of fun for the whole family. Kids love to help out with the scanning! I’ve heard quite a few great reviews from people who have done this. It does take a little bit of extra time, so you just have to try it out. It’s not for everybody, but it’s a great way to earn a few extra bucks from home.

Click here to apply for Nielsen Home Scan Panel.

I have a question from a reader for you all today!

Hi, I was wondering if you or any of your readers have ever shopped/stocked up for a very long period of time? We are looking to stock up on pantry items and meat for about 6-9 months and we are looking for suggestions or ideas as to what they found they used the most or how to store items for this length of time. I’ve done cereal and toiletries but not most other foods for this length of time. Our goal is to only have to purchase fresh fruit and maybe lunchmeat during this period.

Thanks,

Kim

Anyone have any ideas for Kim?  How much should she stock?   Where should she shop?   How she should store this items?

My best advice would be to buy items in bulk as much as possible, and I definitely hope you have a deep freeze or chest freezer!  You will probably need to shop around at the grocery stores for 1-3 months to really create a big stockpile, depending on your budget.

Any readers out there help Kim out!!
