Saturday Success Stories

My Harris Teeter store usually restocks on Saturday morning, but not this week.  However, I am really excited about the items I was able to pick up!!

My eVic account had another $10 off $50 purchase coupon this week!  And it comes off when your total after sales equals $50.

I spent $20.76 on this order and saved over $70!

My favorite finds were the nitrate free sausage for $1.00 each , bacon reduced and eVic coupon ($.69 total), and the ground organic chicken reduced to $2.99.

I know, I know.  Pop-tarts?  They will be for hubby a treat.  No more Pop-tart days for Coupon Teacher!

If you want to know what coupons I used, check out my Harris Teeter Super Doubles matchups!

When my parents were my age, I can remember hearing them talk about time flying.

I know what they mean.  It feels like I have hardly had time to blink since Christmas, and February is almost over!

I had an interesting Lowes Foods trip.

I came down with and recovered from a weird stomach virus.

I did yoga once this week.

I stayed under budget.

I started a great book with my reading class called, “Blue“.

And a million other little successes…

All right, go ahead and laugh.  Fruit and mac & cheese.  Seafood and soda.  Whole chickens and bologna.  As you can see, my shopping has been a really mixed bag lately.

I have been eating veggies, lean meats, rice, potatoes, and the fruits I am allowed to have the last 3 weeks.  No processed wheat or sugar for now, as far as I can help it.  (And I have lost 10 pounds to boot!)

On the other hand, I don’t feel like hubby should have to do the same, unless he chooses to.  He has been eating more fruit, but he has also asked 3 times this week for mac & cheese.  :)

The seafood is swordfish steaks, which is one of hubby’s favorites.  He is grilled them for us last night.

I had a $10 off $50 purchase from a home mailer for this trip.  I spent $50 and saved over $49.  When you consider the fruit, seafood, and lots of cheese, I was pretty happy with my trip!

Sticky chicken is definitely on the menu for one day in the near future!

Today’s success story is my hubby.  That is all.

1. He listens to me and helps me when I am undecided.

2. He says grace for me, and he teaches Bible Class on Wednesdays.

3. He helps carry in the groceries.

4. He tells me when I do something crazy.

5. He rubs my back when it hurts.

6. He takes me on date night once a week, and he always picks the best restaurants.

7. He appreciates me.

8. He works hard around the house and is very handy.

9. He makes me laugh.

10. He is sticking with me through the crazy health problems and all the solutions I am trying.

I love him.

I love sharing reader successes, as well as my own!

Aubrey says, “I saved my best percentage so far tonight at Harris Teeter… $288 worth of food for $89!!! I almost did a back flip in the check out line!”

Did she do great or what?!?!

I know some of you will look at this picture and think, “Geesh, has Shelly forgotten how to coupon?”

Well, I haven’t.  I ran to Harris Teeter late Friday night, and they didn’t have much stock.  In addition, a lot of things on the freebie list were things that we won’t use or that would be hard to donate.

So, I bought what was in stock and what we needed.

6 packs of boneless skinless chicken breast (buy 1, get 2 free which is my stock-up price)

1 Blueberries (expensive, but I can eat)

1 Free 2 Liter after a catalina coupon

1 Free Muir Glen Tomato sauce (coupon here)

2 Free Honey Bunches ($1.97 on my eVic and coupons here)

Marzetti Dressing $1.50 after $.75 doubled coupon

Nesquik drinks $.75 each after doubled $1/2 coupon (no longer available)

5 12 pks of Mountain Dew (for hubby)  ;)

I spent around $38 and saved $54!  Not too bad, considering each item was something we will use in the near future.
