Today’s Tuesday thing to save you money is…..

The Daily Deal site!

1. You can save a ton on local services.

2. You can get great deals online, if you don’t live in a larger metropolitan area.

3. Hint: Check out the service or site before ordering the daily deal!

Here are my favorites:

  • Groupon-I don’t live close enough to Charlotte to take advantage of many deals, but they have some great national deals.
  • Living Social-I especially signed up for their Charlotte deals and getaway deals.  I used them to go see the Charlotte Symphony with hubby this year!
  • Eversave-I have ordered many deals from them.  Some have been great. Some I have been less than pleased with.  But their customer service is really good.
  • Mamapedia-I signed up for this one, due to some great gift card deals I have seen.  They have awesome Dave Ramsey offers on occasion too!
  • Plum District-They have occasional great deals!  (Ummm… or I should say I fine one I want with them almost all the time!)
  • Zulily: Daily deals for moms and kids.  (And women without kids…)
  • Totsy: Daily deals for moms and kids. (And women without kids…)

There are TONS more out there, but these are the ones I try to check out each day! You can also earn by getting your friends and family to sign up through your referral links too!

(I have included my referral and affiliate links in this post.)

What daily deal sites you like the most?

Mark 10:23-27

23 Then Jesus looked around and said to His disciples, “How hard it is for those who have riches to enter the kingdom of God!” 24 And the disciples were astonished at His words. But Jesus answered again and said to them, “Children, how hard it is for those who trust in riches to enter the kingdom of God! 25 It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of God.”

26 And they were greatly astonished, saying among themselves, “Who then can be saved?”

27 But Jesus looked at them and said, “With men it is impossible, but not with God; for with God all things are possible.”

If you are discouraged about where you are in life, remember that with God all things are possible.

You can tackle the debt.

You can stop using the credit cards.

You can do the things you need to do.

Remember who to turn to for help!

My Harris Teeter store usually restocks on Saturday morning, but not this week.  However, I am really excited about the items I was able to pick up!!

My eVic account had another $10 off $50 purchase coupon this week!  And it comes off when your total after sales equals $50.

I spent $20.76 on this order and saved over $70!

My favorite finds were the nitrate free sausage for $1.00 each , bacon reduced and eVic coupon ($.69 total), and the ground organic chicken reduced to $2.99.

I know, I know.  Pop-tarts?  They will be for hubby a treat.  No more Pop-tart days for Coupon Teacher!

If you want to know what coupons I used, check out my Harris Teeter Super Doubles matchups!

Did you have a Success Story this week?

Today’s survey company is Synovate.

Synovate is a well-known and reliable survey company with a good reputation.

For taking surveys, you will be paid in points which can redeem gift cards. Synovate is also known for their full-size samples to try out.

They also have a low payout. Once you’ve reached the $5.00 mark you can cash out for rewards immediately.  I signed up for Synovate last month, and I have earned some points already!

So, we had a great week at the Coupon Teacher household.  A couple of great things and one little slip-up that is.

We are half way through our 12 week challenge!  Time flies, doesn’t it?

Grocery Budget:

We stayed under budget for the week, just barely.  I had to put off my trip to Aldi, but that was OK.  I had plenty of produce left from last week.  (Having an upset tummy for 2 days is actually good for the grocery budget, if nothing else.)

Envelopes:

I am still super excited about my envelopes, but I am definitely a novice on budgeting.   February and May are heavy on birthdays in my family.  Mental note: $20 per month isn’t nearly enough for special occasions.  (Especially when you are just starting and only have $20 in the envelope.)  Hopefully, I can build up some funds by May!  We cut back this month, until debt is paid off, but it is definitely on my list to increase when we have our main debt paid down.

We also used the dreaded C.C. this week.  Yep.  I do tell all.  I have been fighting this chronic illness for months now.  I have researched all kinds of things.  I am working on fighting my illness as naturally as possible, and I am down to a few final symptoms/issues.  I found a new probiotic that might be good for me.  (Maybe.)  Anyway, for those of you that know anything about probiotics, they are EXPENSIVE!   We charged them this week.  I have the money to pay them off coming in soon though!

I guess I found another category I need.  I didn’t do medical expenses, because I have a FSA card and account.  But, unfortunately my FSA can’t be used on more natural and alternative treatments.  Funding a medical envy next month!!

Debt:

We owe Lowe’s less than $1000!  I will have the money to pay them off at the end of this month!!  WOOHOO!

How are you doing? Have you had to make any adjustments?

I would love to hear if any of you have paid down any debt during this 6 weeks!
