I know there isn’t a chill in the air yet, but hubby and I both wanted chili this weekend.
Thick N Hearty Chili Recipe
- 1 pound ground meat (beef or deer meat are usually our choice)
- 1 small onion chopped
- 1 can rotel tomatoes
- 1 can of Chili style beans
- 1 can of water (I use the bean can.)
- 2 small cans or one large can of tomato sauce
- 1 chili seasoning packet (We like The Carroll Shelby kit.)
Chop the onion and saute in a frying pan. Add ground meat and brown entirely through. Drain meat and put in slow cooker. Add all additional ingredients and stir well. Cook on low 4-6 hours or on high for 2-3 hours.
Hubby likes to add a little sugar in at the end, and we both like to top it off with some cheddar cheese.
Enjoy!
