Saturday Success Stories :: A Hand to Help

August 18, 2012

This picture is from last year, but you get the point!  I worked in my classroom some this week, and I have to thank the friendly helping hands that worked with me!

I start back to school Monday!  This school year is going to bring all kinds of new challenges, and after a great summer, I feel ready to meet them!

As my son did not come up with what he would like to do on Thursday, for our hangout day, we went for a long walk (7 miles). He lasted longer than I expected him to and we actually talked quite a bit during the walk. Way more than we do when we bike. May have to go bowling one more time this summer, as he has commented on how he enjoyed that one. I have enjoyed my Thursday mornings hanging out with my 14 year old and he hasn’t seemed to hate them. I think that is fairly nice.

Did bike my longest distance yet on Friday, but nearly wanted to cry coming home, as my thighs were hurting so bad. They weren’t sore the next day or anything, just getting home and the first hour after being home was quite bad. No idea if I will decide to do less miles in future, or is there something I need to do to reduce any such pain while biking. (This week I can’t do as far, as I have something at church which I have to have a fair amount of energy for on Friday, my usual long exercise day. Helping serve a local meal.)
