One Hour Summer Clean Up: Laundry Area

July 18, 2012

I don’t figure this will take me an hour, but I have other cleaning to do today too!

Can you tell this is one of my catch all places?

I am also going to vacuum out the lint areas as well as I can!

One hour or less, clean up your laundry area!

Will you join me today?

I am in the market for a new washer and dryer. Do you have any recommendations? Do you use an HE washer?

My washer and dryer are 12 year old Large Capacity Maytags. They have held up pretty well, but both have had a part or two replaced.

I haven’t done a lot of research into things, sorry!

Leslie,
We have the same set at Shelly. They are Performa by Maytag. LOVE THEM!!!! We bought ours when we first got married 5yrs ago from a garage sale, both washer and dryer were 1yr old and still under warranty. The washer transmission bit the dust earlier this year (after putting $200in to. Taught to call a repair when it starts squeaking (it was the belt that was going bad, then it broke a pulley) and it also taught me to not washer car mats in the washer (that is what blew the transmission)). We bought another Performa off craigslist, slightly newer model, but works great!!!
I have my eye on the Whirlpool Carbrio set when we can afford to or when Dh gets out of the military, so they don’t get dinged up.

My laundry area looks far worse and I will resolve to take an hour to clean it up. Thanks for the motivation!!! For Leslie…..check closely into an he washer, they compact the clothes to use very little water and soap….but leaves the clothing very wrinkled unless you are diligent to get them dried quickly.
