Walgreens Money Maker Trip!

April 15, 2012

I started today with $2 RR and $6 left in my grocery budget until Friday!  (Depressing, I know.)

First Transaction:

Nasal Ease Allergy Relief $9, Get $9 RR
$5/1 Nasal Ease Allergy Reliever, exp. 9/30/12 (RP 03/11/12 R)
Money Maker after coupon and RR

Hunt’s Sauce 3/$1 after in ad coupon

Used $2 RR and paid $3.65 after tax and earned a $9 RR

Second Transaction:

Similasan Nasal Allergy Relief $6, Get $6 RR
$1.50/1 Similasan Product, exp. 6/24/12 (SS 04/01/12)
$1.50/1 Similasan Product, exp. 6/30/12 (ALL YOU Apr ’12)
Money maker after coupon and RR

Aquafresh Kids – $2.00
$1/1 Aquafresh Kids (Walgreens, Apr)
$1/1 Aquafresh Kids Toothpaste or Training Paste, exp. 6/30/12 (RP 04/15/12)
Free after stacked coupons

(not pictured)

Quaker Oats $1.50 after in ad coupon

Goody’s Elastics 27 ct $1.99, Get $1 RR

1 Hershey’s Egg (clearance, not pictured)

I used the $9 RR and only owed $1.17!  I received $7.99 in RR for next time.  I could have done these transactions again, but I wanted to leave the products for others who needed them too.  Plus I can use my RR for need items this week!

So I only spent $4.75 and ended up with $5.99 more RR than I started with!
Did you go to Walgreens today?  What did you do?

FOR THOSE HAVING TROUBLE AT WALGREENS
Here’s a few Tips from Jasmine of dealiciousfinds.com:
•Remember there are big companies that own multiple brands. When a RR prints out from a Pampers purchase, it may say “Thank you from P&G” on the Register Reward. This means you cannot use that RR to pay for ANY P&G product if you expect to receive a RR from it. Example: You can’t turn around and buy Crest toothpaste, as it is also a P&G brand. This doesn’t happen too often, but it’s definitely good to know.
•There is a correct order when handing over your coupons: Manufacturer coupon, then Store coupon. If you are expecting overage from the coupons, and you hand the Manufacturer coupon over last, the register will BEEP and you won’t be able to use it.

Example: I want to buy (2) soaps for $3 each. I have a $2 off Manufacturer coupon and a $2 off Store coupon:

(2) Soaps – $6 total
-(2) $2 off Manufacturer coupon
New Total: $2.00

Now, the Store coupons will simply make sure the qualifying item is in the transaction. In this scenario, it notices (2) qualifying items:
Current Total: $2.00
-(2) $2 off store coupon
Total: $0 + $2 overage
At this point you need to purchase other items to absorb your overage!

Wondering why it won’t work the other way?

(2) Soaps – $6
-(2) $2 off store coupon
New Total: $2.00

Now only (1) Manufacturer coupon will come off because your new total for the soap is only $2. If you attempt to use your second Manufacturer coupon, the register will beep and tell the cashier that the item is invalid. You will not receive any overage.
