Very nice shopping!! Was the Hickory store really crowded? :)

Not at all. I went and got everything I wanted with no problems. Nothing was out of stock and there was hardly anyone there. But, I did go at noon, so I’m sure it’s a lot different at rush hour and as the week progresses.

FYI: I read on a blog once that you can freeze butter. I’ve been buying so much of it lately because of the great deals, I figured I’d give it a try. Have you done it before? I see coupon websites say X amount is a 6 month stock-up price, but never actually saw anyone buy that much. We’ll find out :)

I have frozen real butter, but not margarine! Let me know how it works!

I grew up freezing butter. I always laugh when people say they don’t know how. Just throw it in there and take it out when you want to use it…my freezer is full of butter. I never even keep but a stick at a time in the fridge usually.

What items did you get overage on? I wasn’t aware of any overage deals. My Harris Teeter won’t give overage much anymore.

They had trouble with scanning a few of my coupons, so instead of doubling to the price I got the extra because they had to manuall y enter the coupon price
plus I had evics for most everything and they were already free so the evics were an extra little surprise

I want to say a huge thank you to some wonderful ladies and the store employees who helped me purchase 15 Smart Balance milks & 15 Smart Balance butters for the food pantry! I had gone to the store armed with VIC cards from people who were going to allow me to use them to purchase a bulk order for the pantry. Unfortunately, I didn’t have any extra people to come with me. I had several rainchecks for the milk which made them 2/$6 = free + free butter spread with each. I approached a few shoppers who were generous enough to add these items to their orders & use my coupons (which expired on 4/18 so I had to use them right away). Normally each milk & butter would have had to have been rung up in a separate transaction but to accommodate my rainchecks, the clerks found a way around that so I could maximize the food pantry’s purchase. It was awesome to see people come together for a good cause! Thanks again to everyone! I will be going back at opening time tomorrow morning for the rest of my order (this time with extra people in tow). =)

It would be nice if people didn’t clear the shelves. Just because an item is cheap or free doesn’t mean you need a dozen of them. I never buy anything my family can’t use, even if it’s free. I leave it for someone that may use it instead of buying it and leaving it in the pantry for who knows how long. I wish everyone shopped that way.
I watched 3 ladies, all shopping together, block an aisle at HT so they could clear a shelf before anyone else to get to it. I admit, I don’t have a lot of money either, but at least I’m not that desperate.

(1) Vlasics hamburger dill chips – $2.39 – sale $1.19 – .75/1q(dbled) = Free
(2) Emerald OTG pks – $3.59 – sale $2.50 – $1/1q(dbled) = $.50 each
(4) Ortega Fajita seasoning pks – $1.15 – $1/2q(dbled) = $.15 each
(1) Country Crock light butter – $2.79 – sale $2.19 – $1/1q(dbled) = $.19 each
(3) Neutrogena hand cream – $1.50 – $1/1q(dbled) – FREE

Total with tax before Mq or SQ – $21.84

Total with tax after MQ and SQ – $.17

I tried to figure the percentage but my calculator would not do it, it kept saying 0.00 when i typed it in. I am guessing it is greater than 99% WOOHOO!!!!!!!!!!

I have no idea how the price got that low! I have gone over the receipt and still dont get it! I can only assume that an extra q got taken off or something! At first, after she finished taking the q’s off I had an .08 negative balance, I told her I knew that could not be right, so she got a mgr to come over and that is when we ended up with the .17 cents. All I can say is thank you Jesus for the blessing!!

I’ve still not gone yet too busy and the sales just aren’t great for me. Plus my HT is strict and doesn’t double DND’s. I have a few things at Lowes to get tommorrow.

I have had great success at Lowes Foods this week. The 15pk Pepsi is BOGO $8/2 and there are $1/1 peelies on each. Makes each case just $2! Also Birds Eye Viola is BOGO and there was a $1.50/1 printables makes each free! Lots of other great deals too! I have made 3 trips so far, and saved about 80%

Thank you so much for putting these lists together; I really depend on them to save time making my shopping lists! I went to HT yesterday at got $155.58 for $72.78, which included a number of non-coupon items. If I can save 50 percent of the cost, that’s a win for me!
