This budget update is not really the same as normal.
Most of you know that I am moving in a few short days. So we spent the month of April eating from the pantry, eating out, and skipping dinner totally.
I haven’t shopped very much at all.
Grocery and Drug Store Totals:
Shelf Cost $81.10
Savings: $41.68
Out of Pocket $39.42
Saved 51.39% (Well, below normal, I know!)
This doesn’t include one Walmart trip (for Easter candy for my class), where I lost the receipt. We also spent more eating out than usual, so don’t think I got by the whole month on $40!
How did you do this month?

The only thing I went really overboard on was eating out. I know I’ll probably go over budget for May, because Dh and I are helping my in laws get back on their feet after they lost their home to a fire Friday evening.
Any good deals on dog and cat food, cat litter, HBA and food items I will greatly appreciate. Thank goodness finals are this week, so I can finish up and concentrate on helping my family.
We ate out way too much these past few weeks! My son was on Spring Break, my hubby has been working out of town, and our in-laws are moving from Raleigh to Charlotte so, I took a step back from cooking! Will do better this month, hopefully!
I plan to save at the drug stores this week! I skipped last week because I didn’t see any good deals. Also, I saved during Super Doubles at HT!
We haven’t eaten out all month so I am counting my blessings on that but I went way over plan at almost $360 for April. I had plenty in the house but I couldn’t pass up super doubles (multiple times). I am set on eating from the pantry and freezer this month and hoping that I succeed at the lowest month this year. I know that I have enough food in the house so lets hope for the will power to avoid the rest of super doubles and the next super doubles!!!!
