December Totals

The shelf cost of the items I bought would have been $581.29.  I paid $182.21 after rebates, in other words I saved 68.65%.  And that included two pillow pets for my nephews at Walgreens!

Yearly Totals

I spent $1,931.46 at the grocery and drug stores this year.  This includes most of my newspaper costs and even some of my gifts for the year! I also purchase all of our drinking water.  The only thing it doesn’t include it the side of beef that my in laws by us for Christmas (Thanks!!).  The shelf cost of these items would have been $9,280.45. I saved $7,379.95 or 79.52% for the entire year.

Now that is something to celebrate!

Next goal? To get ready for tax season!  We may be hiring an accountant for our business this year, but usually we just do a free efile tax return.

Awesome Shelly! That is so great! Maybe I should keep track this next year- it’s neat to see how much coupons add up to be!

Great totals. I only keep track of my CVS, well for last year, so I don’t have all my totals. But I saved $3635 there.

I haven’t had a chance to total up my savings for 2010, but I know its at least $2,000. Anywho, my success last week was paying off my credit card!!! I sent an email to my husband to let him know that it was paid off and to thank him for the sacrifice that he is making to get us out of the hole that we dug ourselves. My husband is currently serving his 3rd tour of duty in Afghanistan. Even if he was not deployed we would still be paying 2 bills off this year alone, just in regular payments.

Our financial goal this year is to have everything paid off but my student loan. This is a BIG change for us, not only as a couple but individually. I’ll keep everyone updated. Next on the list is either my car or Brittanica, both have about the same balance and interest rate. I can pay one of now, but that wipes our other account with no “just in case something happens” funds. Both will be paid off by 1 March.
