Many of you throughout this year have wondered, how does Shelly keep track of her monthly shopping totals? I know, because you asked me. Let me tell you the secret. I didn’t come up with it on my own! I don’t believe in reinventing the wheel, when others have done a great job.
I found this great, FREE savings tracker on The Coupon Project site. It is available in Excel or Google Docs.
I save my receipts (all over the dining room table and couch much to hubby’s chagrin). Around once a week, I enter them all into the savings tracker and Viola! I know what my savings percentage is, what rebates should be coming in the mail, and when I go over budget.
I only enter my grocery store and drug store receipts. I set my monthly budget at $150, but don’t give myself too hard of a time if I go over.

I use the same tracker! It is very motivating to see my “stats” each month! Before using the tracker, I knew I was saving hundreds but really had no idea just how much! Some of my monthly coupon totals are crazy high! It definitely shows you that buying a couple $2 papers is worth it!
I confess, I have never tracked my savings! I had full intention of doing it lat year but I never followed through. Maybe I will give it a try this year!
It isn’t too hard, but my receipts sometimes pile up!
This is another goal that I want to do for next year. Keep a steady track of my savings. My average savings right now is $250/mos

I caught a good deal on Scott tissue at Target today. I also used my $2/1 Playtex coupons that were set to expire tomorrow. They were also on sale at the local grocery store.
