If you are just joining in the fun, start at the beginning!
Monday-Cut, file, and sort your Sunday coupons (unless you are filing by insert, then keep them in tact and label them).
Don’t forget to make a menu plan this week with items from your stockpile or that are on sale at the store. You should be getting to the point where you have to buy very few items that are not on sale for your menu. If you aren’t, don’t fret. You will get there soon!
Tuesday- I realized that several of you are having trouble stockpiling and coming in under budget. When you first start, it is hard to pass up a stockpile price, I know. Let me encourage you to do what I recommended at the very beginning. Buy the necessities first. Look at your cart and/or list. Ask yourself what the three-five best stockpile items are and buy those things, but only IF you still have room in your budget. Overall, stores have about 3 month sales cycles. That means ALMOST everything goes on sale at least once every three months. It usually takes between 3-6 months to build a well rounded stockpile. If you have a smaller budget, it can take up to a year. Don’t feel like you have to buy something because it is a good deal, and you will use it later. If it causes you to go into debt, it is not a good deal.
Your assignment today is to only stockpile this week what you can afford, even if it means nothing!
Wednesday-Have you signed up for Swagbucks yet? If you have, you are already on top of today’s assignment. If you have not, read here about how I use Swagbucks to be a savvy shopper. I am not saying that you have to do this, but online shopping and getting free Amazon gift cards is very savvy. There isn’t much you can’t find on Amazon these days. There are books, movies, clothes, food items, and much more. An average Swagbucks user with no referrals should be able to earn at least $10 per month or more in Amazon gift cards. I use my codes for gifts, needs, and a few splurges. Let me teach you a few secrets to getting more use out of Swagbucks.
- Download the toolbar, if you can stand it. I do all my searches straight from the toolbar. It keeps you logged in, so that you don’t have to worry about that.
- Check the toolbar now and again, because the Swag Guy sometimes sends out codes that can be redeemed for points.
- The first one or two results in Swagbucks are usually ads (how else could they afford to give all this stuff away). Scroll down and you will see the most popular results from Google and Ask search engines.
- If you are looking for something really specific, like an address or a map, you probably want to do a google search instead.
- Several of you are really smart already. My site’s traffic report shows that several of you search Coupon Teacher to get to this blog. It can earn you points. I do that with a lot of the blogs I visit too.
Let me encourage you to give Swagbucks a try, you will either love it or hate it. I love it. I will admit it too. When you sign up from one of the links about, I earn more Swagbucks. Each time you search up to 1,000 Swagbucks, I earn them too. It could be a great way to help me save for Christmas presents.
Thursday- Today I have a few great articles for you to read from one of my partnerships, Inexpensively, and one from me earlier this week, in case you missed it.
The ABC’s of Couponing is a cute reminder of a lot of the course so far!
Ethical Couponing is another article related to honest couponing.
Coupon Capers is about what happens when a blogger or coupon messes up!
Don’t forget to start planning any weekend shopping trips to the drug stores.
Friday- Get ready to get rid of those expired coupons again. A lot of them will expire on the 30th or 31st. Don’t forget you can either recycle them or send them to military families overseas. Don’t fret too much over the ones you didn’t use. There will always be more!
Keep up the great work!

This is going to sound horrible, but I think I have couponing burn out. I’m blaming it on finals next week. But i’ll be back in full swing on Wednesday.
