Today I want to offer a few tips for saving extra money with rebates.
1. Save all your receipts. If you keep your receipts in a safe place, you will quickly find that you can do more rebates. This happened to me just this week. I found a meat rebate, and I didn’t have to buy anything extra to send it in. I only had to check my receipt box.
2. Closely follow all the rebate rules. Each rebate is different. Sometimes you will have to send in UPC labels. Sometimes you need an original receipt, but sometimes a copy is OK. If you do not follow the rules, you won’t get the rebate.
3. If you can, make a copy of everything. I have to admit that I am not good about this. With everything else I do, I have trouble tracking my rebates. If you have the time and ability, you should definitely track your rebates to be sure that you get your money.
4. Follow bloggers like Ann at Coupons, Deals, and More who really have great rebate lists. I cannot do everything here at Coupon Teacher, but there are several bloggers who update with a lot of rebates. If you watch out, some of them even have occasionally giveaways with forms.
5. Don’t go overboard. Don’t overspend on your budget just to submit a rebate. Although you will probably recoup some of your money, it will put undue strain on your wallet.
