I have to admit. I am not the handiest person around the house. I can’t sew (at all). I can only passably iron, and I can’t do anything that requires tools or sharp objects. Luckily, I married a wonderful man who is handy. I am going to tell you some of the many handy ways he has saved us money in just the past couple of months.
1. He does all the yard work himself. If you do your own mowing and landscaping, it can save hundreds, if not thousands of dollars a year!
2. He does all the routine maintenance on our vehicles, as well as, some repairs. In the last week alone, he changed my car’s oil and his car’s brakes. Once again, saving us hundreds of dollars.
3. He takes care of exterminating. (Ick!) We have the occasional bug problem here in the south, namely earwigs, and hubby always saves the day. On the rare occasion we resort to spraying for bugs, that saves us a house call and a ton of money. He has also been known to catch a stray snake or two to release back into the wild.
4. He does home repair and do-it yourself renovation. He has saved us thousands of dollars in heating and air conditioning costs by troubleshooting and installing a new thermostat.
5. You name it and he installs it. He installed our flat screen T.V., including wiring. He installed our whole house water filtration. I could go on and on.
Yes, my husband is a wonderful, talented man. So what if you aren’t handy (kind of like me)? Well, we can always learn and practice!

I'm fortunate my husband is like that. He can fix anything! He renovated my entire house-I painted
My husband and I are both handy. I can build things, and instal just about anything. He can work on the cars and take care of the yard. I can sew, he can iron. I can cook and he can reheat left overs. We are such an awesome balance!
Hubby does a lot of work on the vehicles. He changes the oil, he changed is own brakes last year (with the help from a buddy). We were quoted $250ish for all 4 brakes. We spent $86.xx on parts.
I can fix almost anything. I have learned that if someone else can do it, I can learn how to do it to. This comes with the knowledge that hubby's schedule is unpredictable and not always going to be around (downside of the military). If I don't understand something, I call my dad or my grandparents for help.
I just saved around $75 because my husband installed our new dryer. I am so grateful he is handy!
My husband is like that! He works construction and so he can build anything!
