Kaley and I have decided to hold ourselves accountable this year! We are both trying to pay off some debt, and we are both hoping to take a great trip for our 10 year anniversaries! (Mine is this August, so I have had to kick it into high gear!)
February Budget Numbers:
I spent $208.97 at the grocery stores and drug stores this month.
I will receive $68.99 in rebates from various sources, which will go straight into savings.
With the rebates included, I saved $667.74 which amounts to 82.67%!!!
I was so excited to see those numbers!
Now on to the bad news….we ate out WAY to much this month. Between hubby and I being sick and other obligations, we spent $219 this month eating out. Ekkkk! We have to get that under control and quick! I will admit this did include a birthday dinner for friends, but still over $200?!?!
Between the shopping and eating out, I was just over my $100 per week budget. Luckily, we did not have any other expenses other than installing our programmable thermostat and some medical bills.
We also had taxes to contend with! We owed about $100 more to the federal government than we got back from NC, and it cost $56 to file them. The good news is that my large yearly bonus comes at the end of February, which this year was not spent ahead of time like every other year.
So how much were we able to put directly into savings this month?
Drum roll please…..
We were able to save $2,082 this month!!!
This has been placed in savings, and it will be moved toward our debt as soon as hubby’s job stabilizes.
How did you do for the month of February?
