Saving at Restaurants
All right, I have to admit eating out is not very thrifty. I will also say that I love to eat out. I could do it every night of the week. But then we would be very, very poor. We have compromised and decided to eat out once a week with friends and an occasional date night. Today I will be telling you how I save at restaurants.
1. Ask for gift cards to your favorite for birthdays and Christmas. This year we received gift cards to Texas Roadhouse and Red Lobster. This paid for our first three date nights of the year.
2. Spend a little money on an Entertainment Book or a local restaurant coupon book. If you live in the bigger cities, an Entertainment book is worth having. After looking at the Charlotte book, I decided to go with our local book at a cost of $20 due to being an hour away from Charlotte. There are several BOGO meal coupons in both the local and Entertainment coupon book.
3. Eat out at lunch instead or take advantage of early bird specials. If we make it to Texas Roadhouse before 6, my meal is $1 cheaper. Many places will also sell you the lunch size for the lunch price, so that is worth looking into.
4. Ask all your restaurants in town if kids eat free any night. Locally in Hickory, I know that Firehouse Subs, El Chapala, and Atlanta Bread Company offer a kids eat free night each week. That can be a huge savings to those of you with children!
5. Drink water. It is good for you, and it will usually save you around $2 per person!
6. Use Ebates or Shop At Home to order gift certificates from restaurants.com. I have to admit the select around my town is pretty limited, but I have seen some amazing deals on gift certificates in the larger cities!
